Hempstead CAP Youth Council Hosts Successful Community Breakfast at Applebee’s

On a bright Saturday morning, the Hempstead CAP Youth Council rolled up their sleeves and stepped into the spotlight by hosting a cheerful and successful Flapjack Fundraiser at Applebee’s to support future youth programming.

With guidance from the Economic Opportunity Commission of Nassau County, Inc. (EOC), the youth council members took the lead in planning, organizing, and running the event, selling tickets, welcoming guests, and serving up stacks of warm pancakes with genuine smiles and enthusiasm.

The fundraiser was more than just a breakfast; it was a true example of youth empowerment in action. Teens not only raised funds but also gained valuable hands-on experience in teamwork, hospitality, leadership, and community engagement. The dining room buzzed with laughter and conversation as families, friends, and local supporters came together to enjoy a delicious meal for a great cause.

The funds raised will go directly toward enriching youth initiatives in the community, supporting educational workshops, service projects, and leadership-building opportunities throughout the year. EOC extends heartfelt congratulations to the Hempstead CAP Youth Council for a job exceptionally well done and sincere thanks to everyone who came out to show their support. With the success of this event, the Youth Council has demonstrated that with vision, commitment, and a strong sense of purpose, young people can bring a community together and make a lasting impact.
