The Bus Monitor is under the direction and supervision of the Site supervisor and is responsible for the following duties:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitors should support the diver in maintaining bus rules.
- Monitors should participate with driver in workshops.
- Prior to leaving Head Start center, monitors should be sure that each child’s personal belonging are in bad or tried together.
- Monitors should be sure that once the children have their outerwear (coats, hats, and gloves) they immediately exit the building.
- Monitors should be sure that children board the bus immediately after leaving the bus when getting on or off.
- Monitors should be sure that each child is assisted up and down the steps of the bus when getting on getting on or off.
- Monitors must fasten each child into his/her seat belt.
- Monitors must take attendance before the bus begins the route.
- Monitors must be seated so that they can see and verbally assist children from both front and back.
- Monitors must be sure that an authorized person accepts children.
- Monitors must be sure that no child remains on the bus at the completion of a run.
- Any other duties deemed necessary by the CEO/Head Start Director or Senior Management to all program activities as it relates to the Mission of the Agency.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have good interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
- High School Diploma / GED.
