Mateo Flores Elected to Westbury School Board

We’re proud to congratulate Mateo Flores, our longtime Hempstead CAP Director, on his election to the Westbury School Board.

Mateo has been with the Economic Opportunity Commission of Nassau County since 1981. Over the years, he’s led countless efforts to support youth and families through his role with the EOC and as the president of the Hempstead EOC Youth Soccer Club. He’s also the founder of the Westbury Hispanic United Association.

A father of three and a longtime Westbury resident, Mateo knows firsthand the importance of strong schools. His new role on the school board is a continuation of his commitment to the community and to the success of its students.

We’re excited to see Mateo bring his experience, voice, and perspective to the table in this new capacity. Congratulations, Mateo — and thank you for your continued service.
